About our community website

This Community Website is one of the legacies of Thelwall’s Conservation and Community Heritage Project under the National Lottery Heritage Fund. It all started with the conservation needs of our church of All Saints’, but the National Lottery requires more than improvements to bricks and mortar. It wants its investment to make a difference to the wider community offering opportunities to enjoy, learn about and explore their local heritage.

This website is based on the title of that project, “175 in 2018: Legacies in the Landscape – Past, Present and Future’.

Discover Thelwall

We can’t live in the PAST but it’s important we capture it, especially our more recent past before it’s lost from memory. This website page can point you in the direction of resources and groups helping to do that – and maybe, you’d like to get involved?

We want to celebrate the PRESENT and all that our community can offer residents, visitors and newcomers to the area. On this page you’ll find local information, things to do, places to go and local businesses on your doorstep. On this site we’ll be offering a series of walking trails you can download to get to know the area.

FUTURE Post-covid Thelwall’s landmark events in its community calendar are getting back to normal. This is the place to go to for the latest news and updates.
